The World’s Largest Sewage Storm Screens |
|
Barhale, the UK based contractor, working for the Network North Alliance on behalf of Thames Water, are well on the way to completing the World’s largest storm water screens at the Abbey Mills site in East London. Designed and built by Brackett Green, three double entry drum screens will have a total capacity of 42m ³ /Sec (42,000 L/Second) through 5mm mesh. Two screens will be installed at the “F” station and one at the “A” Station. Abbey Mills is one of the city’s oldest, most famous sewage pumping stations. The latest legislation restricting storm discharge into the River Thames drove the project, and Brackett Green’s extensive experience in dealing with such large flows led to Brackett Green being selected as the screen supplier. |
