| Continuous Chain Raked Bar Screen | ||||||||||||
| This type of raking machine has been manufactured by Brackett Green for many years to provide continuous front raking of the vertical screen grid by means of horizontal raking beams, fitted with teeth, carried on two matching endless chains. The vertical screening bars are arranged across the channel and the area between the top of the bars and the debris discharge point is fitted with a flat debris plate.
In operation, each horizontal raking beam moves upwards along the bars and then carries the collected debris across the flat plate to the discharge point. At the discharge point a wiper blade pushes the debris off the rake teeth onto the discharge chute. The number of raking beams fitted depends on the solids loading anticipated but normal practice is for a second beam to engage with the bottom of the bars at approximately the time that the preceding beam clears the top of the screening area. Heavy Duty Machines The complete self-contained unit is located on guide angles fixed to the vertical sides of the civil work to enable ease of installation and removal. Light Duty Machines
